Enjoy an interactive workshop filled with practical strategies and activities that can immediately be used to differentiate assessment, instruction, and improve student thinking, questioning and learning. Come explore feedback, types of assessment, and proven, practical ways to use feedback and assessment to improve student learning. Understand how to have an assessment driven lesson that is based on clear learning targets in a standards-based curriculum. Learn a systematic approach to questioning that will equip students to ask and answer knowledge base questions through deep, rigorous levels of questions. Improve student thinking through effective reflective questioning and inquiry-based learning.

  • Explore how to plan assessment-driven lessons that have clear learning targets from a standards-based curriculum and effective formal and informal feedback.

  • Explore different types of assessments and practical strategies ready for classroom use including pre, formative and summative assessments; traditional, alternative, and performance-based assessments; and basic differences between traditional and standards-based grading

  • Learn ways to improve self-assessment of learning targets and self-improvement goals

  • Explore high impact, low preparation strategies such as response cards, starter cards, formal pause, exit tickets, gallery walk, response splash, jigsaw, and more.

  • Explore strategies and activities that illicit various levels of thinking and questioning about learning targets, ranging from knowledge base understanding to higher levels of deep, conceptual understanding, including analysis, evaluation and synthesis levels of thought. Enjoy games and activities that can be used to help students through levels of questioning

  • Help students improve cognitive processing, ownership of behavior and independent success as they set goals for self-improvement through reflective questioning in the RQ4U process (You face it, own it, plan/fix it, check it)

  • Learn practical ways to improve critical thinking, input, storage and retrieval of content vocabulary and concepts, concept mapping, and meta cognitive purposeful organization of thinking.

Registration

  1. A place will be reserved for you upon receipt of your registration.

  2. Registrations should be sent at least 14 days before course date.

  3. A confirmation email will be sent to you 14 days before the course.

For Payment

  1. An invoice will be generated and email to you. Payments are to be made in Singapore Dollars (SGD).

  2. Payment is required to be made in full at least two weeks before the commencement of the workshop.

  3. Please make your payment either by cheque or GIRO upon receiving our invoice.

  4. All cheques should be crossed and made payable to "Illumien Asia Pte Ltd " with the invoice no. indicated on the back of the cheque.

  5. Any bank charges incurred as a result of bank/telegraphic transfers will have to be borne by the school/organization.

  6. Fees are inclusive of course materials, certificate of accomplishment, buffet lunch & 2 tea breaks.

Withdrawals / No-Show
For any withdrawals or cancellation, participants will be subjected to the following charges:

More than 14 days - 50% of course fee

Less than 14 days - 100% of course fee

Less than 3 working days or No-Show - 100% of course fee

Cancellation
Illumien Asia reserves the right to change or cancel the course due to unforeseen circumstances. In the unlikely event of a cancellation, all registrants will receive full refund.
