DIALOGIC ARGUMENTATION

DIALOGIC ARGUMENTATION

Come explore how to increase student success with literacy approaches and writing across the curriculum through dialogic argumentation. Learn the critical elements for a competent dialogic argument including use of evidence, finding the pros and cons of different positions on an issue and analysis of the findings to reach a conclusion. Take a look at how to scaffold learning to teach students to argue from a single perspective, dual perspective, and integrative perspective. Learn specific activities to use immediately with students in the pregame phase, game phase, and endgame phase. Leave with high impact, low preparation strategies and activities that help students succeed in writing with the six traits and the writing process as they develop and improve their argumentative reasoning skills.
