School Climate: Leading with Collective Efficacy

Workshop Description

 

School climate is a multi-layered topic. It involves all of the complexities of meeting the academic and social-emotional needs of students, as well as how to get the adults in the school to focus on both. In this presentation, Peter DeWitt. Ed.D. will cover topics such as self-efficacy, collective efficacy, surface to deep level learning, trauma, marginalized populations, and how leaders can create a space where all of those issues cannot just be solved, but how the potential of all students can be maximized. 

Learning Intentions

  • Participants will learn what school climate means, and why it’s so complicated to change it

  • Participants will learn the research behind collaboration and why we need to challenge each other’s thinking

  • Participants will learn about self-efficacy and how it impacts student learning

  • Participants will learn how to increase student self-efficacy through academic and social-emotional learning

  • Participants will learn how to foster an inclusive school climate that engages minoritized populations

  • Participants will learn how collective teacher efficacy is a way to minimize within school variance among teachers

  • Participants will learn how to increase their own self-efficacy as leaders

  • Participants will walk out with numerous practical actions to use in their classroom or school regardless of whether they are a teacher, school, district or division leader.

Registration

  1. A place will be reserved for you upon receipt of your registration.

  2. A confirmation email with the Zoom login details will be sent to you 1 week before the session.

For Payment

  1. An e-invoice will be generated and emailed to you. Payments are to be made in Singapore Dollars (SGD).

  2. Please make your payment either by cheque or GIRO upon receiving our invoice.

  3. All cheques should be crossed and made payable to "Illumien Asia Pte Ltd " with the invoice no. indicated on the back of the cheque.

  4. Any bank charges incurred as a result of bank/telegraphic transfers will have to be borne by the school/organization.

Withdrawals / No-Show

Illumien Asia accepts one-to-one replacement for registered participants who are unable to attend for various reasons. For such cases, kindly inform Illumien Asia beforehand if possible so that the participants' records are updated.


For any withdrawals or cancellation, participants will be subjected to the following charges:

Withdrawal Notice Period / Penalty

More than 14 days - 50% of course fee

Less than 14 days - 100% of course fee

No-Show - 100% of course fee

Cancellation
Illumien Asia reserves the right to change or cancel the session due to unforeseen circumstances. In the unlikely event of a cancellation, all registrants will receive full refund.
